For more than three decades, travel has been at the heart of our marriage. From sun-drenched afternoons wandering through cobblestone alleys in Spain, to savoring a glass of red wine in Tuscany, to exploring the historic cathedrals of Ireland, Shari and I (Mario) have always believed that the best way to understand the world is to experience it together.
Over the years, we logged our travels on The Pebbled Road. Our passports have filled with stamps from across the globe: the colorful markets of Mexico, the charming streets of London and Edinburgh, the canals of Venice, the grandeur of Paris, the whitewashed villages of Portugal, and the sparkling waters of the Caribbean. We’ve hiked the Costa Brava near Barcelona, wandered through Malta’s ancient fortresses, stood in awe at Montenegro’s coastline, and soaked in the energy of Mexico City. Each destination added a new story to our marriage — a reminder that travel is as much about discovery as it is about connection.
But while our adventures brought us endless memories, we noticed something else along the way: friends and family kept asking us for help planning their trips. “Where should I stay in Lisbon?” “Which island in the Caribbean is best for families?” “How do I make the most of a week in Italy?” Before long, we were building itineraries, recommending hotels, suggesting hidden gems, and tailoring experiences to match their personalities and travel styles.
That’s when we realized something important — we weren’t just passionate travelers. We were natural planners, curators, and storytellers. And that’s how IterLuxe Travel was born.
Why IterLuxe?
The name IterLuxe comes from the Latin iter, meaning journey, paired with luxe, a nod to the elevated experiences we seek to create for our clients. Shari and I run IterLuxe side by side. She has a gift for understanding people — she listens, asks the right questions, and brings a warm, personal touch to every trip. I balance that with a knack for the backend — handling logistics, partnerships, marketing, and making sure the business runs smoothly. Together, we dive into the planning process, mapping out everything from flights and transfers to private tours and unique experiences you won’t find in a guidebook.
Our philosophy is simple: no two trips should be alike. Just as no two couples, families, or friends share the same story, every journey deserves to be tailored with thought and care.
